At the end of 2016 , Tomo went to Japan for a ski season. As a keen adventurer and snowboarder from New Zealand, he instantly fell in love with Hokkaido's pristine powder snow, fascinating Japanese culture, delicious food and the beautiful volcanic landscape. But without a small fortune to afford the expensive luxury accommodation and food at all the ski resorts, he started exploring different local Hokkaido towns and ski fields, eating in back street local restaurants and daydreaming about the idea of an affordable, authentic small group snowy adventure holiday that would visit all the amazing places where he was riding. The concept of "Goneski" was born!
