Picture this...

You touch down in New Chitose airport in Sapporo. You have collected your luggage and you have hopped on the train to Otaru City. Don’t worry, we will give you all the transfer details closer to the date. Your host will meet you at Otaru train station... you made it! Let the adventure begin!

When we arrive at the lodge, unpack and just relax. For those on Powder tours, this is our base for the next 10 nights so make yourself at home. Spring tours will stay here for 7 nights and 3 nights in a Hotel in Asahikawa. Once everyone has arrived, your host will brief you on the plan of attack for the next 10 days.

Historic Otaru City 

POWDER TOURS - Days 1 to 4

On day one we kick off riding two local Otaru ski fields, Tenguyama and Asari. These are brilliant little local ski fields, perfect for a bit of fun and to get your ski legs back! Day 2 we step it up a little with Kokusai, deep in the back of the beautiful forests of Mt Asari. Day 3 we go large and visit Rusutsu, the largest single ski field in Hokkaido, famous for its fantastic tree skiing! Day 4, Teine, home to the 1972 Winter Olympics and a popular ski field with Sapporo locals with some pretty sweet back country!

SPRING TOURS - Days 1 to 4

We start day 1 at Kokusai, deep in the back of the beautiful forests of Mt Asari. Day 2 we head to Teine, home to the 1972 Winter Olympics and a popular ski field with Sapporo locals. Day 3... ROAD TRIP! Yes today we pack up and say "Matane" to Otaru as we head to Asahikawa in the center of beautiful Hokkaido! Temples, shrines, ramen and ice cream, a true road trip awaits! Day 4, Furano. This is a very up and coming ski field with fantastic views looking out over to the Daisetsuzan National Park.

POWDER TOURS - Days 5 and 6

Day 5 we take a day off the slopes. This is a free day giving you the chance to relax and check out down town historic Otaru city at your own pace. Day 6 we will head to Kiroro, who claim to be the best ski field in Hokkaido!

SPRING TOURS - Days 5 and 6

On Day 5 we get real high, literally! Riding on the highest mountain in Hokkaido at 2291 meters, Mount Asahidake is a beautiful active steaming volcano right in the heart of the Daisetsuzan National Park! Day 6 we head to Kamui Ski Links, a fantastic little ski field popular with the Asahikawa locals. Later on this day we will head back to Otaru.

POWDER TOURS - Days 7 to 9

On day 7 we will visit the world famous Niseko United group. This is 4 ski fields on one mountain! Today we will focus on Grand Hirafu and Hanazono! On day 8 we will focus on Annupuri and Niseko Village, the other ski fields of the Niseko group. By day 9, hopefully you would have rode all 10 ski fields. So on your last day your host will carefully assess the weather, talk to the group and make a plan on where we will re-visit, taking into account the overall favorite spots the group liked the most and any ski fields we may have missed due to stormy conditions.

SPRING TOURS - Days 7 to 9

Day 7 we take a day off the slopes. This is a free day giving you the chance to relax and check out down town historic Otaru city at your own pace. Day 8 is mega! Today we will visit the world famous Niseko United group. This is 4 ski fields on one mountain! Niseko Village, Grand Hirafu, Annupuri and Hanazono! Catch the chair lift to the top of any of these ski fields to access the whole area... truly epic! Day 9 we go large and visit Rusutsu, the largest single ski field in Hokkaido, famous for its fantastic tree skiing!

On the last check out morning of the tour, your host will take you to the train station to make sure you catch the correct train to get you to the airport on time. Hopefully you will ride that train to the airport exhausted, with tired legs and great memories of what has been the best ski trip to Japan ever!
